Oughterard Church Restoration

The parish has two overseeing committees for this work:

Restoration committee

Finance committee

Current news as of 18th November 2018: Work   progressing   well.   Next   big   job   is   guttering   that   may   cost   up   to   €30k,   not   including   run-off   management.   Please   continue   your   great generosity so this winter will be the last one that damages our parish church! Seeking   sponsor(s)   for   repair   of   cast   bell   in   bell   tower.   Quotations   due   soon!   Also   the   ‘old   baptistery’,   presently   the   sacristy,   will   need some   new   presses   fitted   (circa   €3000)   and   a   false   ceiling   with   added   insulation   (several   hundred   euro?   Or   free   labour   and   parish   pay   for materials).   This   is   to   allow   a   space   for   altar   servers   and   also   for   Denis   G.   To   store   liturgical   materials   on   ground   floor.   The   ‘dead   room’ will also need a false ceiling fitted.
